About the Artist:
J. C Lee, a native of Taiwan, displayed his artistic talent at a young
age when he won awards for his painting. As Taiwan became a major supplier
of collector dolls, Mr. Lee learned the basic techniques for making
porcelain moulds and the art of dress making. After producing his first
doll, he traveled extensively throughout Europe to perfect his design ideas
for the European market and soon won great acceptance from the European doll
collectors. Mr. Lee is always seeking the perfect doll face with each
sculpture but most collectors agree that he has done this many times over.
His doll faces have a most poignant look about them.
